The Problem With Dust

By my definition DUST is Doing Useless Simple Things. DUST is like choosing to do the things that don’t really need to be done, when you have something else you are supposed to do. Dust is that accumulation of very fine little stuff that doesn’t amount to much but makes everything covered by it appear that it has not been touched.

Webster says to “gather dust” by definition to be ignored or neglected. A more fitting definition in our case would be to neglect what we are supposed to do and to do the useless simple things.
(Going to the store to find something you think you might need. Having an imaginary conversation with someone, thinking you can control the outcome with your comments.)

What do you do with a situation that is covered with DUST? You CLEAN.

C-Confess Confess to God and learn what He says. 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” Ps. 90:12, “Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

L-Lean Lean not on your own understanding, God can show you what needs to be done. Prov. 3:5-6, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

E-Examine Examine the Word for one purpose, and that is to meet the Lord. You don’t come to get your mind crammed full of things about the Word, but come to meet the Lord. John 5:39-40, “You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.”

A-Ask Ask God for help in deciding what to do. Matt. 7:7, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

N- Nurture Nurture the good works you were designed to do. Eph. 2:10, “For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Let us clean off the Dust, that we might see, “ …that his life may be revealed in our mortal body.” (2 Cor. 4:11)
